Easily one of the best hikes you can do in Southern California, gradual incline, great views/scenery right away, plenty of trees/shade for first half or more of the trail, couldn't see much at the summit due to it being overcast, but loved being able to avoid the sun. Great for my first backpacking trip. Still can't believe this amazingness is in the middle of the desert!
