One of the best looking summits I've seen. Bugs were rampant on the Azalea trail and my 7yo Son was not having it. Azalea also is very rocky on the way up with narrow trails in some sections with some parts overgrown with low clearance. The end of Azalea connected to the newly paved Fire Road that takes you all the way to the summit. Lots of choices to get the summit. You can out and back the paved fire road (short and steep, but no terrain and no bugs but exposed), out and back Azalea (longer distance but slightly less steep, but super rocky, narrow trails, buggy, but shaded). Or do a loop between the two.
Gorgeous summit and worth the climb. My Son crushed this hike and finished.
