Group of 7 training for Mount Whitney. My pack was 30lbs.

After getting situated in the Sunol visitor center parking lot, we started our hike at 8am on the dot. Parts of the trail were muddy due to the recent rains the day before. We past numerous cows that just stare at you while you pass.

Somewhere on the hill we broke for lunch at Noon. That is where we met a baby snake coiled up. We named it Rocky, gave it its space.

The weather was our “Thorns” going up. Weather was over cast in morning, then pockets of sunshine, then cloudy and misty.

Got to our campsite (Doe campground) around 3pm and pitched our tents. After resting for about 1 hour, we decided to summit. It was only bout 1 mile away. When we got to the peak, there was NO view. All you see is Grey clouds and it was starting to rain. Took some pictures of whatever and headed back to our camp. Throughout the night, it was windy and rainy.

Next morning, we had breakfast and packed up and started heading back. On our way back the weather was clear, so only one of us went back to the peak while the rest continued back down. He caught up to us later. Bout 10 miles later we were back at the parking lot, only to find that it was Easter and the all the parking lots were full.

Didn't get to see the view but I kinda have an idea and I know I'll probably come back just to see it.  5 out of 6 peaks. Rose Peak… CHECK.
