I’ve now done three nearby, and relatively easy, peaks for the 2023 challenge. I hope to keep up the momentum, and get a few more before the summer heat sets-in!
The Stanford Avenue trailhead was not too crowded on an overcast friday, and there was no line to take summit pictures. This was a great little hike!
Footnote: A friendly lady, seated in the middle of the trail, asked for my help getting down from the steepest part. She said it was her first hike in 40 years, and was afraid of heights. She also was afraid of slipping, having inappropriate shoes. It is not particularly challenging to most of us, and I was happy to hold her hand and slowly get her down to the wider/flatter part of the hike. Another hiker saw what was going on, and grabbed her other hand. Teamwork! (The fear gave her quite a strong grip. Ouch!)
