What a spectacular hike! I had never heard of this peak until the challenge. Today I discovered it’s a hidden gem. The trail begins with easy ups and downs through beautiful forests and meadows. We encountered scattered thunderstorms but it never rained for long. The final 2 miles or so have longer stretches of uphill but with careful attention to pacing, we all made it. The final scramble to the top wasn’t necessarily difficult—it was more about trying to figure out where the “trail” was. Once at the top, it was all worth it! Panoramic views were spectacular. Unfortunately, impending storms (thunder and lightning) forced us off the summit quickly. The hike down was fast and uneventful. All in all, a beautiful hike.
