Overall a great hike! There were a lot of people up until Mirror Lake, but after the trail was almost empty. There are almost no bugs in the afternoon, but in the evening, especially near Mirror Lake, there are tons of bugs. Near the summit there is one of the best non-obstructed views of Mt. Hood, but definitely make the trek to the real summit.
