What a beautiful trail. It is about 3′ wide and mostly smooth, packed dirt, free of large rocks and stumps. We started mid morning from the top since the lower parking lots were full. The trail was mostly shaded with great vista spots of the Almaden Valley and San Jose area. We could see Mt Hamilton observatories shining across the valley. The Guadalupe Overlook was a pretty place to take a little break and get more views of the canyon and the valley. This was a great starting hike for my 2 companions who don't hike much. The trail has a very low grade everywhere.
