This was a combo day where I was lucky to summit both Grays and Torreys.  This is such a fun day hike with lots of option for both ascent and descent.  This was with a friend who is just starting hiking so we went up the common route up Stevens Gulch.  The hiking conditions were great, but at 7:30 it was already very warm and humid in the upper basin.  I knew the storms would roll in early.  I even considered skipping Torreys as I could see the storms rapidly building.  After a calculation of time, I believed we could make it and return to the basin before it really opened up.  The summit was busy as usual on this peak.  I also scrambled down the Kelso ridge to the knifes edge to take a peak at conditions which are not for the faint of heart. With one eye on the clouds we headed back down as quickly as possible and as predicted it absolutely opened up.  We got drenched but it was kind of nice too.
