The hike up from Azalea Glen Loop was moderate in difficulty. It was an easy incline for the first few miles through the forest. It was a beautiful, sunny day with mild temps in the 50's. The trail was sometimes covered in snow, some mud but mostly clear. There were some patches of ice, so a bit slippery in sections, but a good reason to slow down and stay present. The second half of the climb got quite steep as we climbed the road section to the summit.
The views were gorgeous as it was a clear day. We had a few new hikers join our tribe. Nice second hike easing into the more difficult ones coming up.
Stopped at Descanso Junction for an after-hike lunch. We love that place 🙂
