Today the boy and I tackled San Jacinto Peak. If you ask him, the hardest part was riding the tram up and down! Although it was over 100 degrees in the desert below it was a comfortable 65 at Mountain Station when we arrived in the morning and it was about 55-60 degrees at the summit. The wind was not bad either so overall trail conditions were perfect! This is the highest peak that both of us have summited at 10,834 ft. We were doing fine with the elevation until the last mile or so which was over 10k feet and we had to stop for some breathing breaks, but we made it!! After we returned to Mountain Station we had a snack at the cafe before heading down to the car for the hour and a half drive home. It was a long day but a lot of fun and I’m super proud of the kiddo for what he did today!
