This is a lovely trail due to the amount of shade, and the fact that it's not too rocky, with the exception of the boulders you will need to scramble your way up to the summit sign (you REALLY have to earn that photo!). Did it on a Thursday so we practically had the mountain to ourselves! There is a notable difference between the temps on the desert floor (115 F) and the peak (85-ish). Since we did this from the top of the tram mid-week, the earliest we were able to get started was after 10 am…but I honestly prefer THAT to an 8 am weekend start time and the crowds. Be aware that an adult ticket for the tram is $26, plus $5 to park. Halfway through my 6-pack…bring on Baldy, San Berdo, and San G!
