We arrived in the tramway parking lot at 7:40am and caught the first ride up at 8am. Stopped at the ranger station after walking down the hill from the tram and filled out a free permit! Make sure to do this in case you get lost they will come looking for you! Also, the ranger was nice enough to give us a trail map and gave us some tips for navigating the trail. I’m glad I stayed to listen because it was helpful because at times the trail is hard to see. It’s not impossible to find the way but nonetheless it was helpful for our first time! We reached the summit in just under 4 hours and a total mileage of 6.03 and elevation gain of 2,331 ft. We made it down in 3 hours and 15 min. Counting the 45 min rest break at the summit we spent around 8 hours on trail. The weather was beautiful because the trail is mainly above 9000 ft, which meant no heat wave unlike almost everywhere else in California. The trees are green and the views are stunning, this was a very enjoyable hike and I would say the difficulty would be 6 out of 10. The easiest peak we have done so far! 4 down, 2 more to go! Home stretch here we come.
