Been nervous about this hike. I'm normally a slow-ish hiker. Figured I'd get Er done between 8-10 hrs given my past hikes and that mileage and elevation.
Imagine my surprise with low energy to get it done in 6 hrs 38 mins including breaks and cruising to the top of El Capitan also. Frickin stoked.
Been working on getting out of my comfort zone and REALLY PUSHING MYSELF with distance and speed. It has paid off.
The peak was awesome, met a sibling couple, she lives in Santee, hey brother in Boston. Chatted with them for a few. Met a couple of runner/hikers from LA. Saw a dozen people and that was even more than I thought I would see on a weekday. Great trail. I did better energy wise on the way back to the car. Guess I conserved my energy the right way. Tomorrow is High point.
