It is a long drive from Escondido, CA, where I live to Julian, CA where Volcan Mountain and Cuyamaca Peak are located.  So I convinced some of my hiking friends to do both in one day!  We started early in the morning at Volcan Mountain and had beautiful weather.  What a great hike!
