Beautiful inversion this morning with fog blanketing the valley. Left the parking lot at 8:00 am, already 12 cars in the lot!
Trails in great condition and happy to see the last 1/4 mile of trail is open. The newly built stairs are much better than the concrete ones at the parking lot on the summit. Views are better too. Great meeting another six packer on the trail today. Don’t forget to have your badge visible so we can say hi and share stories.
We logged 10 miles today because we hiked out to Bald Mountain after the summit loop. The Bald mountain trail in an easy 1.5 mile loop and the valley view is outstanding. We had the viewpoint all to ourselves for our lunch with a view.
I highly recommend the additional steps for this hike.
Umunhum trail easy to complete n 3 hours. We took 4 with Bald Mountain trail for a lunch side trip.  Happy hiking!!!
