Got to cross another one off my list with my darling wife again! This hike was longer than what we're used to but the plentiful forest cover was much appreciated and kept us relatively comfortable for most of the hike.
We had one unfortunate encounter with a biker coming down the trail early. We both were approaching a blind corner going opposite directions. He graciously maneuvered off the trail to avoid hitting us which caused my wife to scream and him to fall over. Everyone was ok and he was very courteous and apologetic. We only encountered a few more on the trail but were paranoid and looking over our shoulder the rest of the hike.
Found the sign and marker fairly easily at the top. The views to the west were beautiful. I'm not good recognizing peaks from afar but I have an app that identified Mt. Lincoln, Evans and Grays off in the distance.
It was a great day and a good warm up for Grays next week.
