I set out from Curry Point. Arrived by 930am since I got a late start and there was no issue with parking. It was COLD windy foggy when I started out. As I headed up the trail the views were great, there were wildflowers blooming and then I broke through the fog and into sunshine above the clouds. It was amazing to be up above the clouds, almost like being in a plane.
At the summit there was still some snow from the storm earlier in the weeks. It was just enough in shady spots to make little kids at the summit happy, as families had driven up to the top on the road. The views were amazing up there to be able to see all over for miles and miles, including seeing the snow in the sierras and I think mount Lassen to the north.
People who came up from the Clayton side said the trails were really crowded. I came up the south side to avoid crowds.
