This was the first hike in the challenge that truly felt like a CHALLENGE!
The weather was perfect and the trail was beautiful and unlike anything I’ve encountered before (the tundra!), but the logs and reviews were not lying in their descriptions of the last few miles.
Unrelenting would be the word I’d use. Also most definitely a few shakes in the legs if you’re nervous about heights.
The panoramic views up top made all of that worth it, not to mention the finest VT beers and wood fired pizza later that night!
Absolutely gorgeous, but I’d stick on Monroe next time around for a less intense journey.
