3 of us hiked Mt Diablo on a gorgeous Tuesday after Labor Day. We encountered 2 beautiful horses on the initial part of our trails  and then a much smaller tarantula greeted us on our path. A great day for wildlife. Then came the fun part – the trail just seems to go up , then up and more up (we missed eagle peak so we just stayed on our initial path passed the campsite and up to the summit). At least Tam levels out in parts but that’s not the case with Diablo. We had a lovely lunch and ice cream at the summit (yay for the visitor center). We looked like we fared much better than the cyclist with road rash. All in all, a great accomplishment!
