First, do NOT follow google maps to get to the TH. It took me down some dirt roads and washed and the directed me to drive on a nonexistent road. Follow BLM directions and take Riggs Rd which parallels powerlines and washes. I stayed out of the wash to avoid getting stuck in what looked like very deep sand. (There was a jeep struggling to get through it.) Opt for the dirt road which parallels the right side of the wash. The first 2 miles of trail are easy to navigate, for the last mile it becomes difficult to see the trail in spots where it is above you or crosses rock sections. The way back down it was so much easier to see the actual trail though this upper section.
