I was told by several people that El Cajon Mountain is a best of a hike but after completing Cactus 2 Clouds I thought this was going to be easy and I was wrong. Getting to the summit was challenging on its own but the return trip to the trailhead was definitely an ass kicker. I finally understand why people say it is uphill both ways!
