My husband and I really enjoyed this hike. There was such a mix of terrain that we were never bored. Definitely recommend long sleeves and pants… trail is narrow most of the way and lots of scratchy shrubs! The view from the summit was really beautiful. Loved that we hiked early and on a cool day. We were grateful for our hiking poles and there were some areas where you had to navigate lots of rocks. The first half of the hike is easy and then it gets more challenging after the first mile or so. We never felt like it was ‘strenuous’ as after every steep uphill it flattened out or you went downhill. One of our favorites in SD so far:)
