Group hike with Peak Sisters Summit.
4 of us started super early carpooling from Orange County in Deepa's car. We met with others at the trailhead to forge our way up. For me, it was a great preparation for the upcoming Ragnar Trail Mt Rainier. Mt Baden Powell was exactly the same scenario as one of the legs of the relay race – 2800 elevation gain in 4 miles. A quad burner 🙂 Beautiful views!
Love visiting the famous 1,500-year-old Limber Pine (Pinus flexilis) the Wally Waldron Tree, apparently the oldest tree in the San Gabriel Mountains. This is my favorite hike in the Six Pack Of Peaks So Cal series.
There was a large group of Vietnamese boys and girl scouts doing their second peak for the SPOP challenge. This mountain was special for them because it is named after the founder of their organization. It was so cool to see young people challenge themselves.
There was very little wind on the top and we were lucky to take beautiful pictures with the flag. It's a stunning hike.
