Steady incline. We took the Five Oaks Trail diversion on the way up — increases distance by about .4 miles, but it’s a steadier ascent and more scenic option than that portion of the main trail and we really enjoyed it.
Not a heavily trafficked trail. Started at about 7:00 a.m. and only three other cars were parked on the road.
Gorgeous views, friendly folks, free parking, porta-johns at the trailhead, unusual artworks, and historical features.
