First time on this trail. It was very easy to get to the trailhead, and the path was pretty straightforward. It was a perfect day for hiking: about 62°F with light wind, and the sun was nice and strong, but luckily there was plenty of shade. Was not expecting so much uphill initially but the views were amazing, ranging from chaparral for oak forests. There were patches of snow here and there, with a huge expanse on the last incline of the trail, which we gladly walked across until we realized it wasn't the trail! Scenery was beautiful and we could see from the salton sea on one side to the pacific ocean on the other. Some of the manzanita had flowers, and those had bees enjoying the sweet nectar. My favorite were the canopies under the oak groves at the top. They made me want to set up camp there and live there for a while! Highly recommended
