This was my 3rd time climbing Volcan Mountain. The weather was sunny, but the temperature was in the low 50s. There was a nice breeze, but that turned into strong gusts of wind once I was about 1 mile from the summit. I stopped at the top to admire the view near the binoculars. By the time I was heading back down my hands were numb from the wind chill!
The trail was not very populated while I was there. I started at 12:30 p.m. I saw more people coming down as I was headed up. I passed maybe 5 people who were climbing as I was descending. Overall, great day for this hike. I'm very glad I brought layers and a beanie! Next time I go during the winter, I'll bring gloves.
