Cold and windy day for a hike, especially as I neared the summit. Getting to the trailhead was easy and there was plenty of parking at 8:30 on a Wednesday morning. I only passed a handful of people (and two very friendly puppers!) during the hike. I took Five Oaks Trail up and the main trail down. Great views into the distance although it was a little hazy looking towards the Salton Sea.
Lots of wild flowers, especially on the lower half of the trail. No critters although I did pass a pair of wild turkeys near the trail head. One big fat snake slither-mark across the trail as I neared the bottom but I didn't see the snake.
