First one to the top this morning (I think)! I got to the trailhead at 0705 and there were already several cars full of people getting started.
I took the main path to the top and got some great views. By speaking with another hiker on the summit I learned that there is a slightly alternate route down (or up for that matter) that doesn’t really add much time/distance. It’s the 5 Oaks Trail, which is a scenic single-track stretch that bypasses a good portion of the main trail. We took that path to get back down and did not regret it. It’s well marked and I highly recommend it.
