Another beautiful Southern California day!  Started this hike a little later than I normally would–figure take advantage of the cooler weather and sleep in =).  One of my long time friends joined me.  We hadn't seen each other in 5 years, and we didn't miss a beat!  The weather was perfect: 60-65 degrees, barely a cloud in the sky.  There weren't many hikers on this trail,  so we were able to swoop the one and only bench that overlooks the canyon.  The trail is well maintained with lots of beautiful Manzanita trees along the way.  We took our time and finished in about 3 hours, though it's only  a 5 mile trail.  It's just so gorgeous up there, it's easy to lose track of time exploring.  Afterwards we went to the lovely town of Julia for lunch and donuts. It was the perfect day!
