Beautiful, sunny day. Started about 9:30, and it was not too hot (70 degrees at the top). The porta potties at the trailhead were very clean, even had soap, water, and paper towels. There was some shade along the trail, but a hat and sunscreen are a good idea. There were some bugs in spots, but they were not bothersome enough to stop to apply bug spray. Took the main road up and the Five Oaks single-track on the way down. There was poison oak along Five Oaks trail, but it did not encroach into the trail (uncomfortably close in a couple of spots, though). It was windy at the top. We saw the peak sign but missed the geo marker, as it's not in the same spot as the sign. The trailhead is very close to Julian, so we stopped for tasty apple pie afterwards.
