Compared to the previous two hikes (El Cajon and Potato Chip Rock), this hike was pretty easy. Both the main trail and the Five Oaks Trail has a steady incline going up. There are two paths that split off at the top of the summit. You can choose either path since it goes in a complete circle. I recommend using the Five Oaks Trail going up and then the main trail going down. The Five Oaks Trail gives you an amazing view. The main trail provides shade from trees as the sun starts to peak out.

Time: It took about 2.5 hours round-trip. We started around 6:30 A.M. and made it back to the car around 8:45 A.M. The time included us taking picture and enjoying the scenery.

Water intake: I brought about 48 oz of water, but only drank a 16oz water bottle. Although please bring more water if you are planning to hike when the sun is out. Luckily, my group and I finished right before the heat started.

Bugs/animals: There were no annoying bugs in the air. We did see a few lizards running fast across our paths and lots of fire ants.

If you have time and LOVE pies, do visit the Julian Pie Company after your hike. The Caramel Apple Dutch was amazing to eat afterwards!
