Beautiful and sunny 70 degree day. Excellent visibility — not too windy, just a welcomed breeze. My hiking buddy Amy and I took the Five Oaks Trail on the way up to the summit and used the old road, Volcan Mountain Trail, on the way down. Manzanitas were blooming and bees buzzing around them! They were so beautiful, as were the huge old Oak Trees. Saw some small birds, and a few large birds of prey soaring around. Couldn't tell you which kind they were. Stunning views in all directions did not disappoint! Out and Back was 5.5 miles for me, recorded on All Trails. Bagged the peak and completed my first hike of the 2022 San Diego Six Pack of Peaks Challenge! A very fun and beautiful hike — Loved it!
