I decided to summit Volcan before a winter storm front moves in today and it was not the smartest decision. It was beautiful with the low fog and cloud banks. I took the Five Oaks pass on the way up which was lovely. I saw a lovely, healthy coyote on the hunt. Once I made it back to the main trail, the last mile to the summit had such strong winds from the west with no cover that I was walking on a slant and almost got blown over by a few gusts. It was very cold and even with light gloves my hands went numb. Oh well, I made it and learned an important lesson
