The weather was perfect (around 75 degrees and sunny) but the wind was intense, even blew my hat off a few times, but it kept us cool.
Followed the Volcan Trail up and took the side trail (5 Oaks) on the way up. It is a little longer but has better views and better switchbacks.
There are neat historical and wildlife placards to see along the trail.
Hung out at the top for a while having a snack. There were beautiful California poppy's near the memorial bench at the top.
We took the Volcan Trail straight back down and saw 3 Snakes on the way back down (2 garter and 1 gopher). They were all skinny babies. It was my girlfriend's first time seeing a wild snake and was a lot of fun for me to see her reaction.
