Since this trail was short, my friend and I decided to have a late start. Got to the trailhead around 3pm. We pretty much had the trail all to ourselves other than a couple of other hikers we saw on the way up.
I remember briefly reading the AllTrails comments on the hike, people saying how its tough in the beginning but it flattens out. And how this hike was rated as moderate. I beg to differ. The continuous climb, plus a messed up lower back had me stopping every 5 minutes. It does flatten out, but towards the top.
The views the whole way up are nothing short of Amazing.
We wanted to reach the top before sunset, which we did. We were pretty bummed to not find a summit sign. We sat down and enjoyed a shot of fireball whiskey and some nature valley bars. Stretched our sore legs, and started our descent. I should've brought a sweater. Wasn't too windy, but with the sun setting and a slight breeze; which we enjoyed on the way up; I was really starting to get cold. We made a quick descent. Kinda paranoid that we had a mountain lion following us. My friend and I both heard something, so we made an effort to be loud and hopefully scare away anything that was behind us.
All in all, it was an absolute gorgeous hike. Short, but a definite leg burner.
