Easily found space to park at just before 9:00 am and was on the way up the trail from 9:00 am. Weather was better than forecasted with no clouds at all and a comfortable temperature for the entire hike in the low to mid 60s. Winds got pretty strong for the last 1/2 mile to the summit and then pretty much kept blowing for 90% of the return hike. Trail was in great shape, few people on the trail.
We took Five Oaks Trail in the way up so total distance for the hike was just around 5.5 miles. I recommend going up the main trail and then going down Five Oaks to better take in the views.
Overall, a good hike on a great day with some lunch in Julian which is about 2 miles from the trailhead.
