Beautiful summer morning. Arrived at trailhead around 9:30 and already warming up fast and a bit humid.  The trail descriptions were spot on.  The steady climb up to the saddle offers good views back to the valley.  Once you hit the Los Pinos Road the rock cliffs of Corte Madera come into view.  Lots of herd paths along the ridge to the cliffs, and there are a few up and down scrambles but all very manageable.  Crossed paths with a couple friendly hikers and backpackers but was mostly alone in the wilderness.  The views from the summit cliffs are amazing in all directions.  After a good amount of time on the summit, I headed back and was joined by many turkey vultures.  First circling overhead and then several perched in a pine tree watching me go by.  Heading back is easier to follow the trail and made good time.  I haven’t been back up here in over a dozen years and already look forward to climbing it again.
