We spent most of the hike off of the trail… not because we’re rebels but because we just had no clue where it was since the trail was covered in snow. Thankfully we had a few members of our group with downloaded AllTrails map which helped us eventually find a safe path both going up and down the trail. The trail was also hard to follow because of the growing stream, melting snow, rocks, fallen trees, etc.
All in all, we spent about 9 hrs on the mountain because figuring out the safest path for our group required us to reroute a few times.
things that we found necessary:
- trekking poles
- crampons
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
- 3L+ water
- Electrolyte/energy source
- Trail map
- Each other (please please please don’t hike this alone when there’s that much snow)
