San G was our 12th peak and definitely my favorite! I heard and read everyone’s stories and knew it was going to be hard, but I was ready and pumped up. Having done 11 peaks in the past nine months before this one for sure conditioned my body for this. We started around 5am and the hiked across the creek and through those first set of switchbacks in the dark. That last mile up to the summit definitely kicked my butt and I had to take a lot of breaks to catch my breath, but the gorgeous views and the fact that I was almost there kept me going. Made it up to the summit in 5.5 hours, then back down in four.
What an amazing way to end a year of hiking adventures! Throughout our hike, my hiking partner and I just kept talking about what a cool goal this was, all the people we met along the way, and how proud and accomplished we feel ❤️ Thank you, Jeff and Six Pack community for this awesome adventure!
