Day 1 hiked from the car to Columbine Springs. I started Saturday at 1pm so this was a good stopping point. I lost the trail once I crossed the spring. I am not sure that I even found the camp. I am pretty sure that I didn't as I didn't see any signs at all. Either way, it was a good camp at 8,000 ft. and it wasn't that cold at all. I pretty much used the sleeping bag as a quilt.
Day 2 Hiked from camp to the summit, left my main pack at the Limber Pine Bench camp and took the essentials to the summit. There were patches of snow above Limber Pine at about 9700′ elevation and above. Micro spikes were plenty for me and the “low center of gravity” dog was OK with no extra gear!
Hiked it back to the car on Day 2.
Next mountain I will be even stronger!
