This hike should be done in cool weather but with lots of daylight hours (especially if you have a long drive to get there). We saved this for the end of December due to scheduling and rain issues and barely made it down before dark. We found the trail to be quite overgrown. Felt like we were bushwhacking a bit and having to check to see if we were on the right trail. There was also a mud slide half way up that was a bit scary to cross. Views of Lake Berryessa were beautiful!
