Welch-Dickey is known for being one of the best hikes in NH, and today we were able to confirm that.
With just 4.4 miles to complete the loop and 1,600 ft of elevation gain, the hike gives some amazing views without taking up your entire day.
The first mile is pretty moderate going up Welch before we reached the bald rock face that offered a steeper and more strenuous hike to the peak. Lots of great views all the way up to the summit.
There was some steep sections going up Dickey, but nothing too crazy compared to getting up Welch.
Amazing views of the Sandwich Range, Mt Tecumseh and Franconia Ridge peeking in the distance.
Bring $5 for parking if you don’t have a park pass (or pre-pay online, no cell service at the trailhead).
Bonus: This loop is on the 52 With a View list for you peak baggers out there.
