Six Pack of Peaks: New England 2025
Welch-Dickey
I got up to New Hampshire a bit later than expected but did the Welch-Dickey Loop Trail. Weather looked like there may be some rain and expected wet conditions. It was comfortably cool, some blue skies n sun trying to pop out from the clouds. It was overcast at times with some sprinkles of rain but nothing horrible. Cooler temps really helped me reach Welch and Dickey summits with minimal overheating. There was water flowing. Trails had some mud and water but there were some dry patches. Welch-Dickey Loop Trail was definitely a nice challenge especially with the conditions to the Summits. Started gradually through the woods, up large rock formations and rock slabs. Followed the cliffs and ridges to the summits where I was welcomed by 360 views of closer mountains with clouds rolling over them. Saw some hikers. It’s nice to see all the greens and flowers starting to grow. I didn’t stop for long as it looked like it was pouring west of me n coming east but was able to take in the views before I made my way back to the car. Definitely a beautiful hike and Welch-Dickey didn’t disappoint.
