Crisp autumn morning at the start of hiking though autumn oaks on a blue bird day. I moved up my date to hike Volcan because the day looked to be perfect for a Fall hike and it was. Love Volcan in any season. The last time I climbed Volcan it was blanketed in 8 inches of snow. Today I enjoyed the Five Oaks in Fall colors. Lots of folks were climbing Volcan today too, but it’s easy to find your own space on the Five Oaks trail and vista points among the wide open space of the summit ridge.
