Beautiful clear day for Mount Charleston with some mid-May snow play at the summit. I left a new USA flag, but I kept my summit sign because the back was Griffith Peak for a double-header.
The first 2 miles in was easy, but miles 2 to 4 (almost to the saddle and junction to Griffith Peak) had many snow fields, one about 400′ long. We didn't wear MicroSpikes on the ascent (which was dumb) but we wore them on descent. It appears someone slipped on that 400′ stretch during our hike because where was a fresh slide mark for 30′, another reason to still have traction.
