This started out as a great idea that went awry. I decided to get an early start so I could have the afternoon free to relax in Morro Bay with my girlfriend. I didn’t have my phone charged all the way which died partway after Oats Peak. This wasn’t so much of a problem other than losing my Gaia tracking and photos. The real problem was starting early with the grass being so wet. I was quickly soaked from my waist to my feet as I headed up. The fog was heavy and no real views, but beautiful just the same. Several rabbits ran by me on the path. Heading up I ran into only one person jogging down. I felt pretty good besides being wet by the time I hit Oats Peak. Afterwards I reached a new level of wetness as the trail degenerated into a very narrow path where you could not avoid brushing up against the grass and bushes. A long and not so comfortable hike. Other than the phone and water it was a beautiful hike. I doubt I will be up here again for this one so it was really nice to try some new hikes in areas I am not familiar with.
