This was one on the best days to hike Mt. Diablo. It was chilly, but sunny so you get this combination of hot from the work followed by a delicious chilly breeze to cool you down. We saw wildflowers in various states of coming out for spring, some were open in sprawling patches and others were just buds swollen with potential waiting for the right moment. The views were spectacular, the hills were a breathtaking, vibrant green that I forget exists during the bay's baking summers.
This trail is up, up, up in a push your limits kind of way, but that's what we signed up for, right? I'm looking forward to coming back and trying a full day hike from lower down the road…after I get some roomier boots. This is a great hike you'll feel in your toes and butt for days and your memories for much, much longer. Cheers!
