I have done this hike around 10 time but it has been a while and I always forget how challenging a hike it can be with 3800 feet of elevation gained.  Not to mention the more than 11-mile round trip from Wild Cat Canyon Road and just when you think you are almost nearing the end of the hike you still have a couple of short but steep climbs up out of the valley.

Trail was in very good condition but like everyone recommends, bring plenty of water, snacks, a hat (as there is almost no shade), and wear hiking pants.  I forgot the pants part on this hike and after you leave the county-maintained trail for the scramble to the top the brush gets thick, is very close to the trail, and I came out with a couple of deep scratches on my legs.

The view from the top are amazing, so take a break, pull-up a rock, have a snack, and enjoy.
