Who would have thought this hike would be so difficult?  First problem was getting there.  Google gave us a short cut to the trail head, but we were stopped by a locked gate.  So we had to go the way we should have as described in the SoCal trail description.  Then we go to the saddle , saw the mountain that is called San Diego's Half Dome, and misread the sign.  it looked like we were heading toward the face of the mountain, but we kept going farther from the base.  after about two miles from the saddler, we turned around and backtracked, adding about 4 miles to the hike.  Bummer!  We finally go on the correct route, summitted, and made it back to the car.  Thank goodness!
