This was my second hike and very different from Black Crater. I had the trail to myself the whole day, did not see another person. I found this trail much easier than Black Crater and very enjoyable. The forest was nice and I enjoyed walking along the ridge at the top. I again had a smoky day, but I would imagine that the views would be great. I did get a little confused as I was looking for the Lookout. That is the next day’s hike Black Butte.
